“CORNWALL, Ont. — Two men are dead after their car collided with a transport truck on Hwy. 401 in eastern Ontario on Tuesday morning.
The Toronto-area truck driver was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries after the crash that happened in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Cornwall at about 6 a.m.
The eastbound lanes were closed for a few hours as police investigated.
The two men were identified as driver Robert Springer, 44, of Cornwall, and Daniel Figura, 22, of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Que.
Police had warned of slippery conditions all over Ontario, as a deep freeze set in after a large snow dump the day before.”
